Manager – Reinsurance
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager – Reinsurance to manage the Company's reinsurance operations within our General Insurance business. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining effective reinsurance programmes, managing treaty and facultative arrangements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and fostering strong relationships with reinsurers and brokers.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage the Company's reinsurance strategy in line with business objectives and risk appetite;

Negotiate, place, and administer treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements;

Maintain effective relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other key stakeholders;

Review and analyse reinsurance programmes to ensure optimal coverage and cost efficiency;

Monitor reinsurance recoveries and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances;

Ensure accurate preparation and submission of reinsurance bordereaux, accounts, and reports;

Provide technical advice and guidance on reinsurance matters to underwriting, claims, finance, and other business units;

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies relating to reinsurance;

Analyse reinsurance performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance profitability and risk management;

Prepare management reports, performance analyses and recommendations for senior management.
Key Requirements

Professional qualification in Insurance or Reinsurance (e.g., ACII, FCII, or equivalent) or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or any other related field;

A minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in general insurance or reinsurance, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role;

Strong technical knowledge of treaty and facultative reinsurance, underwriting principles, claims processes, and insurance regulations;

Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills; and
-
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a good ability to build effective relationships with clients
