What are the different types of Travel Insurance that NIC offers?

  1. COVER ME BASIC: Indian Ocean Islands (excluding Reunion Island)
  2. COVER ME SELECT: Schengen Zone
  3. COVER ME PLUS: Worldwide
  4. COVER ME EXECUTIVE: Worldwide.

Who do I contact if I have a medical emergency overseas?


  • If you have a medical emergency, you must immediately contact AXA Assistance’s 24-hour contact centre:

  • You must provide the following assistance agreement number: 0803275 as well as your policy certificate number.
  • AXA Assistance provides 24/7 worldwide assistance services to help you with medical emergencies during your trip.




Do you cover dental expenses?


  • Emergency dental care is covered within the limits mentioned in your summary of benefits on your policy certificate, and as per the general terms and conditions. Fillings and false teeth are excluded from the cover.
  • You must notify AXA Assistance immediately for a pre-authorisation before seeking emergency dental care.




If my luggage is lost, damaged, or delayed will I be covered?


  • Yes, you are covered within the limits mentioned in your summary of benefits on your policy certificate, and as per the general terms and conditions.
  • You must notify AXA Assistance immediately by phone on the same day of the event.
  • Your claim must be submitted with a certification from the airline company confirming the details of the event.
  • In the event that your luggage is delayed, AXA Assistance will liaise with the airline company and keep you informed of the search. If your luggage is found, AXA Assistance will advise you on the terms and conditions applicable for redirecting and recuperating your luggage.




Am I covered if my travel document is lost or stolen?


  • Yes, you are covered within the limits mentioned in your summary of benefits on your policy certificate, and as per the general terms and conditions.
  • You must notify AXA Assistance immediately by phone on the same day of the event.
  • They will advise you on how and where to make the loss or theft declarations, and will help with your documents renewal and claim.




Am I covered if my flight is delayed?


  • Yes, you covered for a flight delay of more than 12 hours from departure or arrival time, within the limits mentioned in your summary of benefits on your policy certificate, and as per the general terms and conditions.




Am I covered if I missed my flight departure or missed my flight connection?


  • Yes, you are covered within the limits mentioned in your summary of benefits on your policy certificate, and as per the general terms and conditions.
  • You must notify AXA Assistance and submit your claim with supporting documents.




How do I make a claim?


  • To report and make a claim, obtain your claim form and for any assistance and emergency services, you must immediately contact AXA Assistance’s 24-hour contact centre:
