Client Notice about Covid-19

NIC understands the concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19) may be causing anxiety and fear. Our priority is the health and safety of our customers, our employees, and the community. Following the Mauritian Government’s unprecedented national confinement measures due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, NIC informs its valued clients and the general public that its offices are physically closed with effect from 20 March 2020 until further notice.

 

With a view to provide an adequate level of critical service to our valued clients during this confinement period, the following measures have been taken:

Customer Service

  • Call our 24/7 Health (Prise en charge) & Motor Insurance Emergency helpline on 602 3000.

  • Email us at customerservice@nicl.mu for any other information or queries that you may have with regards to your insurance policy, including submitting and managing your claims, your benefits and claims payments, and your premium payments amongst others. 

Benefits & Claims

  • Measures have been taken to honour our payment obligations, via bank transfer, in respect to maturity, cash back, pension, death & disability benefits, health & motor insurance claims, for which complete documentation and formalities have been completed by the required due date.

  • Clients who have opted for cheque payment are kindly invited to submit via email (customerservice@nicl.mu) the following for bank transfer arrangements:

(a) Scanned copy or photo of the upper part of your bank statement clearly indicating your name and bank account details

(b) Scanned copy or photo of your ID

(c) Policy/benefits/claims details for which payment is expected

  • Clients who have submitted their documentation after the due date, note your payment will be processed after the national confinement period.

  • Clients who have not completed their formalities by the due date are invited to submit their documentation after the national confinement period.

Renewal of General Insurance covers

  • All payments pertaining to renewal should be done by bank transfer on below respective bank account and evidence of same must be submitted by email:

For Health insurance: SBM Account No: 61030100056840

For Motor & other general insurance: SBM Account No: 61030100056822

  • Measures will be taken to provide you with any corresponding documentation via email including vignettes and certificates of insurance.

Other General Notice

  • We wish to inform our valued clients that all recent insurance applications received and any other policy service requests (not stated above), will be processed after the national confinement period.
